"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen—not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else."
This is the basis of faith of C S Lewis and Alister McGrath, the would-be defeater of Richard Dawkins. Is it a sufficient basis or is it too subjective ?

I don't think ,Tom, that your comment is accurate.Writing an article entitled "Science and Faith" in the Journal of the C.S.Lewis Institute, McGrath says, and I quote,
" For C. S. Lewis, the discovery of Christianity was
like taking hold of and possessing something intrinsically
precious and beautiful, which allowed the rest of
the world to be seen in its reflected radiance. He put
the significance of his discovery like this: “I believe in
Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen—not
only because I see it, but because by it I see everything
else.” The point that Lewis makes here is that our faith
offers us a framework by which we can make sense of
what we see around us."
The complete article is available on the web and I think my question still stands.
