Please forgive me if I don't observe the correct conventions, but as an 81-year-old man, I find it all a bit strange. I am looking for some knowledgeable help in my search for the origins of monotheism.
Atenism appears during the 18th dynasty in Egypt at the same time it would appear as the Jews are in captivity there. It would also appear that the Pharaohs at the time were married to Indo-Iranian Mitanni princesses who might well have brought with them Zoroastrian beliefs, which can be dated linguistically from that time. As also the eruption of Thera would appear to have taken place in 1360 BC it is tempting to believe that such a major disruption of climate as a result of the eruption might well have had a significant effect on the various belief systems in the Middle East.
Can anyone help me out in this and tie the various ends together?
